Researchers in the UK have discovered that muffins sold by cafes and supermarkets can contain up to 8 teaspoons of sugar. One muffin could contain more than the recommended daily limit intake of sugar for an adult (7 teaspoons).

Scientists have cautioned that those who drink sugary drinks over the age of 45 have an increased risk of dying from heart disease. Those who drank 24 ounces or more of sugary drinks had twice the risk of death from cardiovascular events than those who drank less than one ounce.
